Dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the Akhal‑Teke — the golden horse of the Karakum, bred for endurance and brilliance for over three thousand years.
The Golden Horse
From the oases of Turkmenistan, the Akhal‑Teke carried its riders across the Karakum desert on speed, stamina, and an unbreakable bond with its people. Celebrated for the metallic sheen of its coat and counted among the world's rarest breeds, it excels today in dressage, eventing, endurance, and the show ring.
The ATAA maintains the North American registry in cooperation with VNIIK, the international studbook authority — safeguarding bloodlines that reach back to the steeds of antiquity.
